About

The advisor behind HeadSouth Insurance Group

I’m Marcus Head, and I’ve spent thirty years in insurance helping North Georgia families and business owners manage the everyday risks of the things they’ve built. I’m also CPA-trained, so I read a policy the way an auditor reads a ledger: line by line, looking for what doesn’t add up. And I’ve been rooted in Cherokee County since 1995, licensed in Alabama and Georgia.

HeadSouth Insurance Group exists for one reason: to give homeowners, landlords, and small businesses a trusted advisor who sees the whole picture, not just one policy at a time, and who explains it in plain language with no pressure.

01 · The insurance years

Thirty years of managing everyday risks

Insurance is not glamorous, and that is exactly why it matters. For thirty years I’ve been licensed to help families protect the homes, cars, rentals, and businesses they’ve spent a lifetime building. The work is quiet, but the protection is not: it is what keeps a single bad day from becoming a financial turning point.

I describe it simply: I help manage everyday risks. The home you live in, the property you rent, the business you run, the car you drive. When those everyday risks are handled with care, the bigger things have a way of taking care of themselves.

02 · The accountant’s eye

Trained as a CPA, so the numbers get checked twice

Before insurance, I trained as a CPA. That training never left me. I read a policy the way an accountant reads a ledger: line by line, looking for what doesn’t add up, what’s missing, and what the fine print actually says.

It also means I can translate. I don’t hand you a policy and walk away. I explain what each piece does in plain English, name the tradeoffs honestly, and let you decide with a clear head.

03 · Why education first

An informed client is a protected client

I’ve never believed in selling with fear or jargon. The people I serve are smart people, and they deserve to understand exactly what they’re buying and why. So I teach. I write, I explain, and I answer questions until the picture is clear, however long that takes.

When you understand your coverage, you make better decisions and you sleep better. That is the whole point.

Trust & credentials

A different standard, because the stakes are different

01

Thirty years of insurance

Not a few years, not a decade, but three decades of licensed experience across personal lines. I have seen the claims, the gaps, and the patterns that generalists never notice.

02

An accountant’s discipline

CPA-trained, which means I read policies the way an auditor reads a ledger. Limits get checked. Exclusions get named. Nothing gets waved through because it is printed on nice paper.

03

A whole-picture standard

My practice is built for the families and small businesses of North Georgia: their homes, their cars, their rentals, their businesses. I review it all as one picture, and that is the work I am set up to do well.

04

Education, not fear

I have never believed in selling with fear or jargon. You get plain language, honest tradeoffs, and enough understanding to make the decision yourself.

05

One advisor, whole picture

Home, auto, rentals, business, and umbrella reviewed as one structure. Gaps are found where policies meet, not inside any single policy.

06

Rooted in the community

In Cherokee County since 1995, and licensed in Alabama and Georgia. I answer the phone myself, and I plan to be here for the long haul.

Thirty years licensed

A licensed insurance agent since the mid-1990s, with decades of experience across personal lines.

CPA-trained

An accountant’s training that means every limit, number, and clause gets read with precision.

Rooted in Cherokee County

Part of this community since 1995, licensed in Alabama and Georgia, and here for the long haul.

I am a little bit different, I help manage everyday risks. And I’d rather tell you what you don’t need than sell you what you do.
